My name is Emma-Jane Hunt, I am a Yjindibarndi and Djaru woman with both traditional and ancestral links to both the Pilbara and Kimberly regions of Western Australia. I was taught to weave when living in the East Pilbara by Martu Weavers from the Western Desert.
Basket weaving is a part of women's business practices so I only share this technique amongst females.
Over the past 8 years I have kept my techniques as close to what I was taught as possible. I am grateful for being taught these weaving techniques and am passionate about keeping this cultural practice alive and feel that I am in a place now that I can confidently share this with other females.
I teach individuals the technique of weaving to which they can then complete a basket beyond the workshop.
$55 per person & once bookings are secure I will provided address as I deliver the workshops at my home in Bentley.
Payment options include: Square payment (accepts debit and VISA), Bank Transfer or Cash.
