Celebrate with Zach Mayer for the release of his new album, "Abiding," featuring Rabbi David Curiel.
About this Event

What happens when we stay just a little longer with what we'd rather avoid? Abiding, the debut album from Rabbi David Curiel, explores this territory through songs that are by turns tender, questioning, and rollicking—music for finding our way from fragmentation toward wholeness.

These songs emerged from years of healing work: grief rituals, medicine ceremonies, and the daily discipline of presence in an often overwhelming world. Recorded with producer Zach Mayer, the album holds a simple understanding—we can't heal what we won't face, but we're not meant to face it alone.

Join David, Zach, and friends for an intimate concert in the round, journeying through the full album beginning to end. This is more than a performance—it's a shared space to breathe, to feel, and to abide together with what matters most.

About Zach Mayer:

Zach Mayer was the first artist to headline a concert for the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music. Back in October, 2021, Zach and his band graced us with the music of "Zamru." Now, he's back with a new album for us to enjoy.

With over 20 million hits on YouTube for his “Subway Sax Battle,” Zach Mayer has performed with Bobby McFerrin, John Zorn, Questlove, Jamie Cullum, Big Boi (OutKast) Cyro Baptista, Frank London, Michael Alpert, Joey Weisenberg, and many more musicians you might recognize. He performs internationally with Zion80, a 10-piece Jewish Afrobeat band inspired by the music of Shlomo Carlebach, and his folk sextet, Night Tree, has toured internationally and has released two albums produced by Seamus Egan of SOLAS. He has been on the faculty at the Brandeis Institute of Music and Art and Laguardia Arts High School in Manhattan, and teaches workshops around the US and Canada. Zach is the musical director of Kahal B’raira, a humanistic Jewish congregation in Cambridge. He received his Masters of Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston, and is a member of Hadar’s 2020-2022 Rising Song Fellowship.
