About this Event
Join Afrimerican Academy Summer Tours for the FREE AAST Summer Showcase, a public celebration highlighting the work, growth, and achievements of youth participants from the 2026 summer program.
Family members, community supporters, educators, and the public are invited to celebrate our youth tour guides as they share presentations, displays, storytelling projects, and reflections on their summer experiences exploring Boston’s cultural, infrastructural, and environmental history.
The showcase will feature:
• Youth presentations and displays
• Community storytelling
• Summer project highlights
• Awards and recognitions
• Public history and cultural education
• Interactive community engagement
The free showcase will take place at the Shaw Library – BPL Roxbury and will be followed by the “Once Upon a Time in Nubian Square” walking tour exploring the history, culture, transportation, and legacy of Nubian Square and the surrounding communities.
The Afrimerican Academy Summer Tours program trains youth in:
