Join The Transformational Prison Project's (TPP) first ever event and prom-themed fundraiser, A Night of Freedom Under the Stars. TPP is a restorative justice, non-profit organization that exists to encourage healing and accountability and change the way the criminal justice system and community respond to harm.
Most of the individuals TPP serves were locked up as children. While other kids were choosing outfits, laughing with friends and dreaming about the future, transformative youths were learning how to survive inside systems that did not leave room for celebration or childhood milestones.
This prom is about creating that experience now. It is about offering joy without judgment, freedom without conditions, and belonging without barriers. It is about allowing people who were incarcerated as children to step into a space where they are not defined by their past, but welcomed for who they are today.
At TPP, we believe in accountability and giving back. But we also believe people deserve moments of happiness, connection, and celebration. This prom is a way to live fully as citizens to dance, to laugh, to feel light, and to be embraced by community.
For many, this will be the first prom of their lives. For all, it will be a reminder that joy and belonging are possible.
