This year, we are back and better than ever! We invite you to be a part of our sixth annual ImReady Conference, “Building New Worlds,” convening in Oakland, CA at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center on September 21, 2024.
In the midst of so much devastation, global war and genocides and after several years of challenges and demands, our communities have consistently demonstrated that the power of collective struggle; research + study; healing, wellness and resistance are central to creating a new world. From people’s universities on college campuses, grassroots clinics, to community-run farms, our communities are creating practices that are rooted in liberatory politics and radical care. As Arundhati Roy writes, a pandemic is a “portal, a gateway between one world and the next” and we are seeing that it is the people that are ushering in this new world.
At “Building New Worlds,” we are bringing together over 200 artists, educators, activists, organizers, and community members who are interested in not only new worlds, but new ways of being. Please join us by saving the date, getting your tickets early, donating, and spreading the word. Speakers, agendas, and more to be announced in the coming weeks.
