Join guild director Rod Story for the next stop of the Guild's virtual wine tour. After touring most of the wine regions of France, we're now off to Italy to tour Tuscany. Tuscany, the home of Chianti, Brunello, and the Super Tuscans. There will be wines from 5 different DOCGs (Demoninazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) and 3 different DOCs (Demoninazione di Origine Controllata). Have you ever had a wine from the Carmignano DOCG or Pomino DOC? There will also be price point comparisons between two Super Tuscans (wines with Bordeaux grapes), two Brunellos as well as a Riserva Chianti Classico and a Gran Selezione. Have you ever tried a Gran Selezione? It was a classification that was added to Chianti Classico in 2014. How many of these appellations have you tried before? Which ones are the best value and are the more expensive versions worth the price?
