About this Event
Join us on November 18 at the Leah Posluns Theatre for an unforgettable evening celebrating Toronto’s Jewish restaurant past, present, and Future.
This multi-experience event brings to life the bakeries, delis, and eateries that once defined community life—the places where people gathered to eat, schmooze, fall in love, strike deals, and even solve community challenges over shared plates. The night begins with a gallery experience featuring historical visuals and content from generations that built our Jewish food landscape, (courtesy of the Ontario Jewish Archives) delicious tastes inside a mini Shuk of Jewish up and coming hot spots, and plenty of time to mingle.
Once the doors open to the theatre, an on-stage panel of storytellers of food experts will captivate you with incredible detail of how it all began and anecdotes that with feed the soul. Moderated by Anthony Rose, Chef and featuring, Ruthie Ladovsky, United Bakers, David Sax, author: The Deli King, Lucy Waverman, writer, and Miriam Borden, Yiddish scholar and Historian, all sharing memories of the city’s iconic eateries.
Nostalgic, flavourful, and fun, this is a chance to revisit the moments and stories that shaped Jewish Toronto.
