Join us for a very special morning of conversation, inspiration and baking stories with Maisam Algirgeet, the Manchester-based baker, content creator and cookbook author best known online as La Maisam.
Maisam first captured the nation’s attention on The Great British Bake Off at just 18 years old. Since then, she has built a global following with her calm, no-stress approach to baking — especially her bread recipes, including her viral ciabatta video with over 70 million views.
Born in Yefren, Libya and raised in Manchester, Maisam’s baking is deeply rooted in family tradition, storytelling and heritage. She brings those influences together with practical, approachable recipes that her growing community loves to recreate at home.
In 2025, Maisam published her debut cookbook, La Maisam, a beautiful collection of breads, pastries and sweet treats designed to make baking accessible and joyful for everyone, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned home baker.
