
About this Event

Trees are alive -- and watching you! Kind of. Hi, I'm Sam! I am your local educational arborist with a mission to creatively connect people and plants. Join me on this neighborhood tree walk to learn about fall science, listen to spooky plant stories, and connect to nature in our city. We'll start at Crispus Attucks Park at 5:30 pm (sharp!), walk through LeDroit Park and end at Andy's Pizza (808 V St NW) around 7 pm to hang out and chat. All participating attendees can get free slice(s) of pizza with the purchase of adult beverage(s). More details below:
Cost: This event is donation based! Contributions will help my LLC, Tree Stories, provide low-cost programming and services to kids, schools, and communities you are a part of. Pay what you can or pay it forward :)
Our Walk: We will be walk roughly 1 mile on sidewalks and grass surfaces. Recommend comfortable shoes. Please message me if you have accomdations I should be aware of.
How to get there: Metro: Green line to Shaw-Howard U station or D32 bus. Car: Street parking may be available but is limited and zoned. Do not park in alleys surrounding Crispus Attucks Park.
Weather: The event will be postponed to 5:30 pm on Thursday, October 30th in the event of rain. Cancelllations and refunds can be issued for those that cannot attend at that time.
Kids and Family: Kids are welcome but please note the walk and content will be geared toward adults and some stories might be slightly spooky (but not scary). Dogs are also welcome if leashed and friendly (Andy's has a dog-friendly patio).
