About this Event
Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies will play an indispensable role in promoting firm, reliable electricity production. From enhancing the competitiveness of fossil energy, to supporting greater oil production through enhanced oil recovery (EOR), CCUS supports domestic energy security by helping provide 24/7, low-COâ‚‚-emitting power.
CCUS technologies have benefited from bipartisan support in Congress. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act not only preserved the Section 45Q tax credit, but also strengthened it by enhancing its incentives for EOR and utilization.
Additionally, CCUS is set to play an integral role in addressing the growing demand for dispatchable, low-carbon power to support data center and artificial intelligence (AI) build-out. For the United States to be the global leader in data center deployment and to help our nation win the AI race, the development of natural gas with carbon capture will be indispensable.
