About this Event
Don't Miss the Documentary Film Screening & Panel, Hosted at the Hall of Flame Firefighting Museum
Join us in Phoenix for a special community screening of A NEW INFERNO, a powerful short documentary following members of the Phoenix Fire Department as they respond to life-threatening heatstroke emergencies during the hottest days of summer 2025. Directed by Nita Blum-Reddick and Jonathan Pickett.
🎬
Fresh off its premiere at South by Southwest Film Festival, A NEW INFERNO brings viewers onto the frontlines of extreme heat—capturing the urgency, humanity, and evolving realities of life in the hottest US city.
📰 The film was recently and will be released as an Op-Doc this summer. This screening offers a rare opportunity to see the film before its public debut—with the community and collaborators who made it possible.
🎤 Following the screening, stay for a live panel conversation featuring local experts and participants from the film. Together, we’ll explore the growing impact of urban heat, how Phoenix is responding, and what it means for the future. Folks will also have the opportunity to tour the museum.
Come connect, ask questions, and be part of the conversation. Light refreshments will be provided. Carpooling is encouraged.
Spots are limited—reserve your seat today.
