A Long Weekend in Lakeland May 22–25, 2026 | Lakeland + Central Florida
A relaxed Memorial Day weekend hangout built around good conversation, local favorites, coffee shops, lakeside walks, beach sunset vibes, Disney Springs wandering, and fellowship. This is intentionally low-pressure and flexible — more “weekend with friends” energy than a jam-packed itinerary.
If you’re coming in from out of town, Lakeland is located between Tampa and Orlando and makes a great home base for exploring Central Florida.
✨ Tentative Schedule Highlights:
FRIDAY
• Dinner at The Joinery food hall
• Sunset walk around Lake Mirror
• Ice cream
SATURDAY
• Morning coffee meetup (with optional famous local baked goods)
• Walk around local lake
• Lunch + afternoon recharge time
• Evening beach trip to Fort De Soto for sunset and picnic-style dinner
SUNDAY
• Church in Lakeland
• Lunch and relaxed afternoon options
• Evening trip to Disney Springs for dinner, wandering, and free boat ride to Port Orleans French Quarter for Mickey beignets
MONDAY
• Brunch + downtown Lakeland wandering
• Coffee shops, bookstores, antiques, local spots
• Wrap up by mid-afternoon
A few notes:
• Activities are optional — come for part of the weekend or all of it!
• Some meal locations may shift depending on group size.
• Florida in late May is HOT, so expect casual clothes, walking, and lots of water breaks.
• Fort De Soto dinner is bring-your-own style (chair/blanket encouraged).
• Out-of-town guests are responsible for their own lodging/transportation, but we can help coordinate carpools and recommend areas to stay. I can also make flight/airport recommendations.
