About this Event
March Strong Towns Local Conversation
Date: Tuesday, March 24, 2026
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Location: Main Richmond Public Library - Activity Room
Conversation Starter: Split Rate Tax (Land Value Tax)
Real estate taxes are the largest source of revenue for the city. They also can be a tool for incentivizing development.
The City of Richmond has flexibility in how it taxes property. We're advocating for how Richmond can use this flexibility for the long-term benefit of its citizens, incentivizing affordable housing, incremental density and a thriving economy.
Join the conversation to learn more about a Split Rate Tax system and be ready to ask some questions.
