About this Event
In this class, advanced improv students will learn several traditional longform improv forms, such as The Deconstruction, Detours, the Pretty Flower, etc. Upon mastering these formats, students will work together to conceptualize and perform their own unique improv form.
Dates: The class runs Tuesdays from 3/24/2026 to 5/12/2026, starting 3/24/2026 and running for 8 weeks.
A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of May 17.
Instructor: Connor Doyle
Connor Doyle is the Coalition's current Education Director. He performs with Still Life, produces and performs in the show Can't Hardly Date, directs (and sometimes performs in) Improvised The Office, Project Jane (Improvised Jane Austen), Y2k LOL, and has previously performed with Coalition house team The Movies. He has trained and performed at iO Chicago, The Annoyance, Theater Momentum, Chicago Improv Studio, with The Whethermen at the University of Virginia, and at other venues across Richmond, Chicago, and beyond. He created the podcast Humanoid Resources, and has written for the podcast Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. He is allergic to horses.
Prerequisites: Improv 101, 201, 301, 401, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.
Cost: $250 (Early Bird: $220)
The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management.
