A two-day Contemporary Art auction.22-23 October 2025.
Art+Object is delighted to announce it will offer the collection of Wellingtonian's Mal and Lizzie Brow. Well known around the country for their deep support of contemporary artists and the visual arts, Mal will be familiar to many from his time owning and running the non-profit gallery 30 Upstairs in Courtenay Place, Wellington. 30 Upstairs was a revolutionary gallery (and residency) that provided an invaluable space, commission-free, for new and emerging artists to exhibit and sell their work.
Mal and Lizzie's own personal collection can be characterised by a deep and abiding commitment to supporting many of Australasia’s most exciting and risk-taking contemporary artists including: Hany Armanious, Andrew Beck, Séraphine Pick, Francis Upritchard, Tony Fomison, Bill Hammond, Peter Peryer, Billy Apple, Liz Maw, Dan Arps, Michael Parekōwhai, et al., Anoushka Akel, Don Driver, Gavin Hipkins, John Nixon, Kushana Bush and many more.
The auction will be held over two consecutive evenings, with evening one focusing on paintings and sculpture by well-established artists in the collection, and evening two will feature photographs, editioned works, and works by more emerging artists from the collection.
