Burpham has a long history stretching back before the Domesday book, even though for much of this time it was little more than a hamlet. Nowadays known as a busy shopping centre and suburb, its history is not as well-known as it deserves. Burpham resident, Moira Macquaide who has researched many aspects of the area’s history, and written an excellent book on the subject, will tell us some of the fascinating tales from its history.
