Set amid the Salem witch hunts, The Crucible, arguably Arthur Miller’s greatest play, sees a community divided by jealousy and superstition. As witchcraft hysteria takes hold, choices have to be made: conform to survive or uphold your beliefs whatever the consequences. Beneath the division there is quiet strength – a mirror in which to gaze. Performed open air, this will be a theatrical event : scintillating, powerful and intense. A lesson from history that is truly a play for our time. Performing open air at Merrist Wood July 15 - 18. ROLES - 10m & 10f plus ensemble.
