About this Event
Join DC Bird Alliance for a very special bird walk that invites us to discover — or rediscover — what it means to be a birder. What connects in your mind, body, and spirit when you hear a tiny soprano in perfect pitch singing from the trees?
Together with Susan West Montgomery, certified forest bathing guide, we’ll slow down, cultivate curiosity, and experience birds and nature more fully. This walk blends gentle bird observation with the practice of forest bathing, which invites participants to use all of their senses to take in the sights, sounds, and scents of the forest. More than a walk in the woods, forest bathing is a conscious choice to be present and immersed in nature.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace, observe our surroundings, and reflect. No prior birding experience is needed, just openness and curiosity.
Please note: the route includes natural, uneven terrain and may not be fully accessible.
Meetup details will be emailed to registered participants.
And as we walk, we’ll return to a simple question: Who’s watching who?
