Hello, Dancers!
Please join us this weekend in **Concord, MA** at the Scout House for an evening of beautiful English Country Dancing! Margaret Bary will lead us in a program of Challenging English dances to music provided by the wonderful band Alchemy, which is comprised of Karen Axelrod, Rachel Bell, and Eric Martin.
Please note: this evening's dance will be designed for dancers who have complete familiarity with dance figures and are able to respond quickly to instructions, and will involve dance instruction and a pace that assumes both of these to be true.
Dances will be taught using a mix of gendered and non-gendered terms. The event's hours are 7:30-10:30pm.
There will be a light refreshments buffet during the evening dance, to which contributions (sweet or savory, purchased or homemade) will be gratefully accepted. (Especially if homemade, please fill out an ingredients card upon arrival so that people will be informed about any potential dietary concerns.)
Admission is $15 for members of CDS-Boston; $20 for non-members; sliding scale of $5-25. Please visit https://www.cds-boston.org for full information. No pre-registration required.
Don't forget: earlier on the same day, Margaret will be teaching an afternoon dance workshop from 1:30-4:30pm, which is also open to advanced English country dancers!
Please note: the hall will be open and available between the two dances for those who would like to eat dinner between the events. Many restaurants in Concord center are available both for eat-in and take-out orders, or you are welcome to bring food with you to eat.
For more information regarding either event, please see the event's flyer: https://www.cds-boston.org/.../1-21-26-feb-event-flyer...
Lastly: make a weekend of it! Our first Playford Ball workshop will be the following afternoon (Sunday, February 8th) from 1:30-4:30pm. For more information, see the separate event post with the full schedule of upcoming Playford Ball workshops.
We hope to see you on the dance floor!
