About this Event

On May 19, 1895, Jose Martí mounted his white horse and charged The Spanish Army, resulting in his death. His martyrdom solidified his legacy as a larger-than-life figure. Bestowing upon him the title of "The Apostle of Cuban Freedom." On the day of his death, we ask everyone to gather and lay a white rose at the feet of Jose's statue in La Casa de Pedroso, where he drummed up his movement of Cuba Libre.
