About this Event

Inclusive yoga teacher and movement specialist Lucy B and artist and yoga teacher Scottee are back with another workshop for fat, queer, neurodiverse and / or mad people often sidelined by yoga spaces, white wellness and thin superiority.

‘A Day of Stretching our Bodies and Brains’ has been touring the UK with lots of beautiful feedback and experiences. We are inviting pals who have practiced with us before and new friends to join us for a day of restful and restorative practices. Coffee, cake and care wraps around three practices exploring rest and reflection.

Should you want to carry on the fun, there is the optional low-key social in a local café where food is served and the chatting and bonding can continue.

Sunday 14th April

11am - 2pm (optional social until 5pm)

Good To Know

-Beginners to yoga are very welcome. Lucy is an highly experienced inclusive teacher and will be offering lots of variations and adaptations

-Our discussions will be facilitated by Scottee who has has extensive experience holding and hosting sensitive conversations

-There will be matts, bolster cushions, blocks and blankets to help make practising as comfortable as possible

-This practice requires the ability to move from seated to standing with the support of a chair or props

-This day of workshop will largely involve sitting on a chair or floor with regular comfort breaks

-The space can hold 40 people but we will be only accepting 30 people to make sure you have space to be yourself

-We will not be touching your body or telling you how to move, Lucy will be giving verbal cues

-Whatever you write down during the day or however you join in on practice, no one is going to ask you to share or demonstrate anything

-You don’t have to join in on anything! You can watch, listen and observe - this is just as valid!

-We will encourage you to take up space, take rest when needed, tic, stim or take 5 from the room as you need

-If you want to make a weekend of it we have a 20% discount for a local hotel and a list of great cafes and restaurants to try
