It is incredibly easy to get stuck when seeking out a direction and solution concerning one’s own work. Finding someone to talk to you about it can also prove to be difficult. Let’s face it, our mothers and friend’s opinions tend not to be completely honest or helpful when it concerns our creative efforts.
Feedback sessions offer visual artists the opportunity for individual discussions with an experienced artist- educator. The person presenting their work will lead the discussion. The role of the educator is to provide fresh insights on your chosen topics.
Peterson has held roles as an educator, exhibiting artist, panelist, and juror for a wide range of exhibitions and grant programs spanning more than four decades. She mentioned feeling let down for the artists whose work was overlooked, suggesting that revising just one aspect could have made a difference. She also believes that being overlooked can significantly impede an individual's creative confidence and development. In Peterson's individualized, 30-minute sessions, the artist will have an opportunity to discuss how to make their work stand out, discover new things about their pieces, and gain new perspectives on their craft as a whole.
