In a time when rising negativity, divisiveness, and a tendency to assume the worst in others are tearing at our civic fabric, connect with your neighbors and meet others in the community this new year by attending an Open House hosted by the La Crosse Toastmasters Club. On Tuesday January 27 from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the basement of the County Admin Center, the keynote presentation from local advocate and “edu-tainer” Bob Weeth will advance to an Area Speech Contest in the spring. More to come!Toastmasters’ learn-by-doing program was created to help you gain the skills needed to achieve your personal and professional goals, creating more confident communicators, public speakers, and leaders. In addition to the supportive and welcoming learning environment in the club, Toastmasters offers a structured education program called Pathways focusing on five core competencies with corresponding projects.
The La Crosse Toastmasters Club meets at the County Admin Center on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month with free parking available in the lot on 7th Street. La Crosse was the first Toastmasters club in the state of Wisconsin to charter in September of 1946.
