A Chorus for Emma

Join us for a very special day of music in honour of the beloved Scottish Mezzo Soprano Emma Kerr (1987-2021). This event at St Matthias, in close vicinity to the Guildhall School of Music of Music where Emma studied, will bring together Emma's friends and colleagues for an inspiring celebration of Emma’s life and her deep love for music. All soloists and chorus members are Emma’s colleagues and friends from her time at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as our national opera companies - English National Opera, Glyndebourne Opera, Scottish Opera and Garsington Opera. We are grateful for support from Ruth Whitehead Associates as well as Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Funds raised from this event will go towards The Emma Kerr Classical Singing Award, which supports aspiring Scottish Mezzo Sopranos who may otherwise struggle to attend the prestigious Oxenfoord Summer School (registered charity SC049216). Through this award, they will have the opportunity to work with industry greats, just as Emma did, who will help them to navigate their own musical journeys.
