With everything from amazing tailgates, fancy hats and bow ties to the parade of antique carriages and thoroughbreds racing for the finish, the Radnor Hunt Races is a day filled with elegance, excitement and fun. Race day is about steeplechase racing, it’s about fashion, and it’s about tradition! It’s about family and friends celebrating spring and it’s about "Racing for Open Space."
For more than 45 years, the Radnor Hunt Races has been Racing for Open Space, raising funds and awareness for the Brandywine Conservancy’s open space and clean water programs. Your patronage of the Radnor Hunt Races provides critical support to the Brandywine Conservancy's mission and ensures open space is protected for future generations.
All passes must be purchased by May 6, 2026. Passes are not sold on Race Day and there will be no will call.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIS YEAR'S EVENT
While we look forward to celebrating this anniversary year with you all, it is with bittersweet news that we also share that this year’s event will mark the final year the Brandywine Conservancy will serve as the sole operator and beneficiary of the Races, which the organization has led for the past 45 years. The Radnor Hunt Races have been a beloved springtime tradition on the Main Line for nearly a century—long before the Brandywine became the sole operator and beneficiary of the Races in 1980—and one that we hope will continue for many more decades to come. With the centennial running of the Races approaching in a few years, it is now time for the Brandywine to pass the baton on to a new operator to continue the tradition of the Radnor Hunt Races into the event’s next century. The Brandywine has been working closely with the leadership of the Radnor Hunt to help them identify a new operator and work on a transition plan to ensure that the Races continue to thrive for decades to come.
As we come upon Brandywine’s final year at the helm of this event, we hope you will join us on May 16, 2026 as we celebrate both the remarkable history of the Races and Brandywine’s 45-year partnership of “Racing for Open Space.”
We are deeply grateful for the leadership team and all members of the Radnor Hunt, the National Steeplechase Association, our committee members, sponsors, partners, race staff and officials, volunteers, thoroughbred owners and trainers, jockeys, and spectators like you who have supported this event over the years. We hope to make our last year operating the Races the best one yet, and we look forward to seeing this event continue to grow in its next chapter!
