About this Event
8th Ward Block Club & Community Resource Workshop
Join us for a collaborative workshop bringing together residents, block club leaders, and key city partners to address crime and quality-of-life concerns in Chicago's 8th Ward and beyond.
This interactive session connects community members directly with leadership from the CPD District 004, the Office of Aldermanic Michelle Harris (8th Ward), the Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC), the Chicago Department of Water Management, and the Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation. Together, we will discuss practical strategies to improve safety, strengthen communication, and resolve persistent neighborhood issues.
Participants will:
- Learn how to start or strengthen a block club
- Engage directly with police and city department representatives
- Get guidance on addressing crime trends and nuisance properties
- Understand how to effectively use 311 and city service systems
- Leave with clear action steps to support safer, cleaner blocks
This workshop is designed to move beyond conversation and toward coordinated action. Whether you are an active block club member or simply care about your neighborhood, this workshop provides the tools, access, and partnerships needed to build stronger blocks in Chicago.
Together, we can turn engagement into impact!
