Who is up for a challenge?! This full version of the route takes in all seven of the hills surrounding Scotland's capital, along wooded paths, green hills, parkland and several necessary stretches of urban pavement walking. After leaving Waverley, we very quickly climb Calton Hill before tackling Arthur's Seat, the highest summit on the route with a steep ascent/descent, and then heading straight off to Blackford Hill, through the Hermitage of Braid and up Braid Hill. Onwards to Easter Craiglockhart Hill from where we descend first to the canal path and then to the Water of Leith for a stroll towards Corstorphine Hill. The longest section of pavement walking follows, as we head back to the city via Dean Village and up to Castle Hill where we can pat ourselves on the back as we survey our conquered hills and perhaps enjoy refreshments on the Royal Mile to celebrate our achievement!
