About this Event
Building on years of successful community engagement through initiatives like the Meet Your Neighbour program and our signature seasonal dinners, the Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) Ottawa, in collaboration with the Anatolian Heritage Federation (AHF) and the Ottawa Police Service (OPS), invites you to a prestigious evening of connection at the heart of Canada’s democracy.
The Community & Friendship Dinner at Parliament Hill returns this year with a profound focus on unity and mutual understanding. As we gather during the holy month of Ramadan, the evening serves as a platform for residents, community leaders, and public officials to share a meal and reflect on the values of compassion and hospitality that define our city.
This flagship event is more than a dinner; it is an exploration of how empathy and partnership can strengthen the social fabric of Ottawa. Following in the footsteps of our past Neighbour-to-Neighbour and Community Table events, this gathering encourages guests to move beyond simple coexistence toward creating a genuine, inclusive community.
About the Event
Over the years, Community & Friendship Dinners have played a pivotal role in fostering community bonds and enhancing understanding among diverse cultures and faiths. These initiatives reflect our unwavering dedication to cultivating an inclusive and harmonious community environment.
Honored Guest
We are particularly honored to have the support of Hon. Jenna Sudds, Member of Parliament for Kanata-Carleton. Her contribution and advocacy for inclusivity and diversity have been instrumental in bringing this event to fruition.
