Appartenance : où en sommes-nous à l’Université d’Ottawa?

Le mercredi 11 mars de 16 h30 à 18 h30 HAE, dans le cadre du Mois de la Francophonie, le Cabinet du vice-provost, équité, diversité et excellence en matière d’inclusion réunit Boulou Ebanda de B'béri, Karine Coen-Sanchez et Meredith Terretta, trois sommités en recherche à l’Université d’Ottawa, afin d’explorer l’appartenance sous un angle historique, sociologique et culturel.

Qu’est-ce que l’appartenance? Comment la reconnaître? Qu’en pensent les membres de la communauté étudiante, du personnel et du corps professoral issus de minorités, et notamment les personnes noires? Si les francophones représentent la population la plus satisfaite de notre campus, qu’en est-il des francophones issus de minorités?

On Tuesday, March 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EDT, as part of the Mois de la Francophonie, the Office of the Vice-Provost, Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Excellence will bring together Boulou Ebanda de B'béri, Karine Coen-Sanchez and Meredith Terretta, three renowned uOttawa researchers, to explore “belonging” from historical, sociological and cultural perspectives.

What is a “sense of belonging”? How can we identify it? What do students, staff members and professors from minority communities, particularly Black individuals, think about “belonging”? If Francophones are the most satisfied population group on campus, what about Francophones from minority communities?
