Seattle’s Winter Beach Party is Back! This Winter, Alki Beach will once again be packed with brave polar plungers, food trucks and yes, wintery brews from around the Puget Sound for a greta cause - Special Olympics Washington.

It’s a full day of craft beer, great food, music, and the annual Polar Plunge, all in support of Special Olympics Washington.Whether you’re sampling from top local breweries, cheering on the brave plungers, or enjoying a variety of food trucks, there’s something for everyone. This year, we’re celebrating 50 years of Special Olympics Washington and inviting you to embrace the vintage winter vibes and “Let the Good Times Be Cold” by dressing in your best 1970s-inspired outfit! Vintage snowsuit, anyone?

FUNDRAISING GOAL: $45,000 (2024 RAISED $30,000)

Event Highlights

Heated Beer Hall (21+ only, ticket required) – Sample from 20 local beers and ciders, enjoy live music, and challenge friends to a game of cornhole.
Food Truck Rodeo (all ages, free admission) – Ten unique food trucks serving a variety of menu options.
Polar Plunge – Watch or take the icy dive alongside 500+ plungers raising funds for Special Olympics Washington.
Tasting Experience – $35 (Entry, 10 tasting tokens, 4 oz. cup)

EVENT DETAILS

WHO: The Mobile Food Rodeo and Special Olympics present the 5th Annual Alki Winter Beer and Food Truck Festival on Alki Beach on Saturday, March 8th from 11-5:00pm.

WHAT: Grab a bite, a frosty wintery brew and cheer on over 500 plungers beachside for a great cause, the Special Olympics of Washington. Show your support by purchasing our Winter Beer Tasting that gets you 10 tasting tokens to 20 local beers paired with a fleet of tasty food trucks serving curbside at Alki Beach

WHEN: Saturday, March 8th from 11am to 5:00pm at the Alki Beach House in West Seattle inside our heated beer hall beachside with live music and entertainment throughout the day, plus 12 food trucks (trucks area is free and family-friendly)

HOW: We'll be featuring 20 local beers and ciders to sample or simply enjoy a full pint to show your support for the Special Olympics Washington and local athletes.

TICKETS: Tickets are only available for purchase online with advance tickets for as low as $20. Both tickets options come with a drink ticket, so the first one is on us. 100% of the proceeds go right back to Special Olympics Washington, so raise a glass for a great cause this March.

IS THIS EVENT FAMILY-FRIENDLY? NO. THE BEER FESTIVAL DOES NOT ALLOW CHILDREN OF ANY AGE. The food truck festival portion and the live entertainment is always free to the public along Alki and family-frienldy, but not isnide the beer garden. The Beer Garden requires a ticket and is 21+ only.

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics athletes by collecting pledges and plunging into Puget Sound.

Too chicken to plunge? Cheer on from the sidelines in the “Chicken Coop.” You can still raise funds, win prizes, and make a difference in the lives of countless local athletes without getting wet.
