The Reading League Colorado is proud to host our third annual 5280 Literacy Symposium—a full-day, in-person event dedicated to advancing evidence-aligned literacy instruction across Colorado.Rooted in our mission to ensure every child’s right to read, this year’s theme, The Full Literacy Equation: Reading, Writing, and the Mind at Work, explores how the science of reading and writing are inseparable. Executive functioning bridges the two—helping students plan, organize, and communicate their ideas. Supporting the full literacy brain means addressing all three.
This symposium is designed to inspire and equip educators, school leaders, and advocates with practical tools, research-aligned strategies, and real-world examples to strengthen literacy instruction across systems.
