Musical Style: Big Band JazzThe 5280 Jazz Orchestra is Denver’s hottest new big band, igniting the scene with electrifying energy and top-tier musicianship! Founded by CSU alum Jack Derbique and MSU Denver’s own Tyler Treadway, this powerhouse ensemble was born from their passion for big band jazz and a desire to bring it roaring back to life.
This show features three dynamic vocalists in an electrifying celebration of large-ensemble vocal jazz. From the timeless swing of Count Basie and Diane Schuur to the soulful, hip-hop brilliance of Jill Scott to the high-energy modern arrangements of The 8-Bit Big Band, 5280’s electric set explores every corner of big band music with power, style, and swing.
