What: April 52 Hike Challenge - MN Chapter | Group Hike & Park Cleanup!
🌿In honor of the 2026 Earth Day, the 52 Hike Challenge MN Chapter will be sponsoring a park cleanup on behalf of Three Rivers Park District! Put on your proud stewardship hat and join us as we love the land that loves us in return.
🌿 Our stellar sponsors at KEEP NATURE WILD have also donated cleanup supplies toward our incredible cause and efforts!
When: Saturday, April 25th @ 10:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve, Savage, MN
Trail details & ability level: Approximately 4.2-5.5 miles of trails. The trails are rated moderate and take approximately 3hrs to complete.
HOWEVER, with a park cleanup, varying hiking paces and stops depending on what we find, and terrain, this may take longer, and we will pace ourselves to accommodate the possibility of varying trail conditions. (why we gave a larger window of time for this event)
🌿We will be split into TWO groups to complete this cleanup, and cover as much ground as we can. This is why the mileage shared varies, depending on which group you are in.
Being able to hike at/around 2.5mph would be good for joining this hike.
We will be mindful of weather conditions before this hike, to ensure everyone's safety.
This includes temperature, rain/storms, and any elemental conditions as they present themselves. If there is a cancellation necessary, we will try to do so within 24hrs of the day of the hike.
What to bring: Weather appropriate clothing (layers are best!), sunglasses, sunscreen if necessary, consider boots or supportive footwear, as generally spring time can mean muddy trails, watch weather in case you need a raincoat, a daypack or similar with water, personal needs, the Hiking 10 essentials, bring snacks or a small lunch in your pack, and a positive attitude!
Due to a larger group setting, no dogs or pets unless they are working/service animals.
🌿WE WILL be providing you with cleanup supplies such as trash bags and gloves!
🌿WE WILL also be having a few fun giveaways after our cleanup efforts!
Parking: Parking and admission is FREE!
Meet in the Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve Parking Lot - off of County Road 75
The parking lot is in locatedclose to the trailheads that we will be covering
