Saturday Volunteer Days

Help and get to know our hyperlocal composting operation, Restaurant 2 Garden. We collect food scraps from restaurants in our neighborhood and process it into nutritious compost for gardeners at the Danny Woo Community Garden. With a few processing methods to create our compost, there will always be something to do, and we love sharing about how we do it!

No experience necessary - Our friendly team will provide all the guidance and tools you need. Though expect to be working consistently throughout morning. Remember to bring a water bottle, and good spirits.

What to expect - Staff will go over specific tasks for the day, before we get started. Expect to help us carry buckets of food scraps from local restaurants to the garden, chop food scraps down to smaller pieces, and/or turn our hot compost pile, and/or other gardening and composting maintenance tasks.

Accessibility - The Danny Woo Community Garden is on steep, hilly, terraced terrain. There are outdoor stairs and uneven ground all over. Wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting stinky or dirty. There is no restroom available onsite but there is one available one block away.

So mark your calendars for this Saturday Volunteer Day on May 9th from 10:30am to 1pm! We can't wait to see you at the Danny Woo Community Garden for a day of teamwork, community camraderie, and making a difference!
