It’s here!! The 4th annual 510 Hikers 5K event!! It’s been so much fun the past couple years. This event attracts a diverse and colorful group from all walks of life!! And that’s what the Bay is all about. The diversity of it. Too many of these events lack it and 510 Hikers has led the charge to create a welcoming vibe for black and brown runners and walkers so that these events feel more like thee community and not just, a community.
First time runners to winning runners ready for a PR running with great completion have been a part of this fun event. 17:36 is the 510 event course record for the 5k. $50’cash on the spot to whoever breaks the course record. This year we have teamed up with “A Runners Mind” ChronoTrack official system that will allow for real time results the morning of so we can calculate and properly congratulate winners with our 510 winners podium. Winning prizes for age group (3 age groups) for both men and women top 3.
The run starts inside the Fairyland Area at the boathouse picnic tables at Lake Merritt!! Parking can be $5 at the Kiosk. There is also metered street parking after 8am on Grand Ave!!

Too many of these “company” runs around our town these days. With huge salaries and profits to make, charging $60 plus to participate is about the going rate. That eliminates too many people. Not us. We have lowered the bar of entry for everyone. We don’t not want a single family of 4 paying over $100 to walk and have fun at this event. We WANT to see families. We WANT the community out. Diverse, colorful and for the Love of the Bay brought to you by people who actually grew up and went to school in the Bay.
We will have surprises for the kids this year. Excited to have this event. Excited for everyone to see what happens when good people get together and have a good time in one of the most beautiful places in the entire Bay Area to have an event.

We will have a number of bib pick up opportunities starting in October to make sure everyone not only signs up, but participates too!!
