About this Event
Route Description: This is the third of 4 consecutive days , which together cover the whole of the Telford T50 50 Mile Trail. The trail was established, as part of Telford's 50th anniversary celebrations, in 2018. It joins together most of the open spaces in Telford.
Today’s route is https://explore.osmaps.com/route/2112032/telfordt5050miletrailstage6 followed by https://explore.osmaps.com/route/2112136/telfordt5050miletrailstage7
It is described in detail Stage 6 | Telfordt5050trail and Stage 7 | Telfordt5050trail and also in The Guide Book | Telfordt5050trail
On today’s walk we will first climb to Snedshill and enjoy surprisingly good views. We will then go via the Nabb, the Cockshutt and Central Hall (an open space) to the detached part of Granville Country Park. After this we will go, via Muxton and field paths, to Lilleshall village and monument. We will pass over the hill then return to Muxton and the main part of Granville Country Park. After enjoying the view from “The top of the World” bench and admiring the old canal basin and Old Lodge Furnaces, it's up all the way, via the picturesque Priorslee Flash and village, to the notional start and finish of the trail in Telford Town Park. From here we will walk the short distance to Telford town centre to catch the number 4 bus back to Oakengates.

- Good walking boots/walking shoes are essential on all of walks. Wear/carry clothing for wet and sunny weather. We can have both in the same day!
- Some sections of the routes may be overgrown and have nettles and brambles, so consider sleeve and trouser lengths for your own comfort.
- Please come prepared for the walk, with water, drinks, snacks and food as appropriate for the length, duration and effort of the walk as it is rarely possible to purchase items on route.
- Please also be aware that toilet facilities and seating are limited on most of the routes.
- Be mindful of any recent rainfall that may also make some of the routes muddy and consider using walking poles. Walking routes may be changed at the last minute due to the impact of the weather.
