About this Event
Join the Battleship Missouri Memorial as we commemorate the 40th anniversary of USS Missouri’s recommissioning and honor the Sailors who returned the legendary battleship to active service in 1986.
This program will recognize the significance of the ship’s recommissioning and celebrate the service of the Sailors who helped carry the Missouri through the final years of Operation Desert Storm. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with members of the Recommissioning Crew, hear their stories, and reflect on the enduring legacy of the “Mighty Mo.”
Immediately following the ceremony, guests are invited to remain aboard the ship for a traditional Hawaiian blessing and the unveiling of a brand-new exhibit honoring the Recommissioning Crew, located on the ship’s Second Deck. Attendees will be among the first to experience this tribute to the Sailors who helped return the Missouri to active service.
Now permanently berthed at Pearl Harbor, USS Missouri continues to serve as a powerful symbol of service, sacrifice, and the enduring legacy of the United States Navy.
