EDGY OPEN MICEdgy Open Mic was originally created by Star Blue on June 7, 2018. Star hosted Edgy through the pandemic, and the supportive and encouraging community of performers have banded together to keep the original spirit of Edgy going. With Ben Perdition at the helm on the sound board, they found a wonderful home at Whiskey Tip in Santa Rosa. An open mic that could be more adult, no holds barred, supportive mixed open mic. It quickly became a hot spot for budding local talent and through fires, floods and a pandemic we have come out of the other side stronger than ever. Edgy is a special place where friendships have formed, bands have been created, collaborations done, hugs, kisses and more love and support than one performer could ever ask for.
In 2021, Tika Moon and Matthew Witthaus took over as co-hosts for Star Blue. They kept things moving along as they dealt with the aftermath of the pandemic. Since then, Tika Moon became the sole host and producer to keep everything at Edgy running smoothly.
In November 2023, we found out that the building we called home, Whiskey Tip, was closing and in 2024 we found a new home at Iron Ox Brewing Company. She was joined by Rob Wegner who took over sound engineer and has been invaluable to keep things running smoothly week after week.
