About this Event
This event is a free one-day focus meeting for Evolutionary Microbiology, taking place on 20th August 2026
The goal of this focus meeting is to bring together evolutionary biologists, ecologists and microbiologists from Ireland and abroad to share and discuss their research.
We are delighted to announce four keynote speakers
- Dr Rebecca Hall (Univeristy of Manchester)
- Prof Tom Williams (University of Bath)
- Dr Rachel Wheatley (Queens University Belfast)
- Dr James Hall (Univeristy of Liverpool)
Attendees are invited to submit an abstract for a short talk or poster presentation on any aspect of fundamental and /or applied microbial evolution research ranging from environmental to clinical e.g. molecular mechanisms of evolution, experimental evolution, directed laboratory evolution, phylogenetics, pathogen evolution, antimicrobial resistance evolution etc.
The meeting will open at 09:30 with coffee reception, this will be followed by the first set of talks to start at 10am. Lunch will be provided.
