About this Event
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Good Deed Jon Fried Pickleball Tournament!
Join us for a fun-filled day of pickleball to support The Fried Center for the Advancement of Potential (FCAP) โ a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the health and fitness of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Event Details:
๐พ Doubles Tournament: Doubles format, open to all skill levels โ whether youโre a seasoned pro or a first-time player, everyoneโs welcome!
๐ Location: FCAPโs flagship clinic in Crozet, VA, which primarily serves residents from the adjacent Innisfree Village, a lifesharing community for adults with IDD.
Why We Play:
Exercise is crucial for better health, reducing chronic disease risk, and boosting mental well-being. Yet, only 9% of adults with IDD meet recommended activity guidelines โ leaving them at triple the risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and stroke compared to the general population.
FCAP aims to tackle this health gap by providing accessible, affordable exercise programs designed to improve health outcomes across the lifespan โ while offering University of Virginia kinesiology students hands-on experience in functional exercise training.
๐ Sign up today and be a game-changer!
Whether youโre playing, cheering, or supporting from afar โ every serve, volley, and donation helps create a healthier future for everyone!
Prizes from local vendors including a court Pickleball Machine for the winner.
