About this Event

This talk will introduce 3D food printing technology and explore its current and future applications, with a focus on how this could help us achieve healthy eating and nourish vulnerable communities like aged care residents.

The team will bring their 3D food printers to show what the future of nutrition could look like.

About the speakers

Dr Liezhou Zhong is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Nutrition & Health Innovation Research Institute (NHIRI) at Edith Cowan University (ECU). His research focuses on how new food processing technologies can improve human nutrition and health.

Amanda Orchard is a chef in aged care catering. She has a strong interest in texture modified foods and olfactory and taste dysfunction in the elderly.


This event is run in partnership with the Royal Perth Hospital Research Foundation.
