Beginners 35mm camera skills SLR film workshop for elementary introduction to film camera shooting.
If you've never shot or just started getting to grips with using a 35mm film camera, this workshop may be for you. The workshop on Sundays are for film camera learners starting out to use film cameras with guidance. On Tuesdays, we run the film darkroom printing introduction side for students of film photography to learn how to do wet darkroom printing for the first time. Please make sure you sign up to work shop you're after!
Bring a camera or let us know if you need to use one in the studio in advance and buy a roll of film to shoot indoors, outdoors in this workshop.
We go through the basics of loading a film camera, how to use the shutter speed, aperture values and focussing before moving into applying in the studio and outdoors. If you have a sitter or friend who will sit portrait for you, you may bring them along on arrangement.
The more technical things can be explored if you wish to bring your own film camera (do make sure it's working before the workshop!)
Camera, lighting and tripods can be supplied for the indoors workshop if too cold to work outside.
Limited to 4 participants per workshop.
