About this Event

Honoring Story. Cultivating Change.
Stories do more than help us remember. They help us witness, understand, and act.

What happens when stories are held with care, witnessed in community, and allowed to take root?

Join Generate Health for 2B Heard: When Stories Take Root, a storytelling-centered gathering that honors lived experience and creates space for reflection, dialogue, and action. This event will bring together community members, partners, providers, and advocates for an experience that is both grounded and hopeful—one that makes room for truth, connection, and what can grow when people are truly heard.

Guests will move through an artful storytelling experience, share lunch and conversation, hear from featured voices, and take part in a facilitated discussion designed to cultivate meaningful next steps.

This event is for community members, healthcare and provider partners, advocates, birth workers, system leaders, policymakers, and anyone committed to maternal and infant health, community voice, and the power of storytelling to shape more equitable systems of care.

Agenda

🕑: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Honoring Story | Arrival, Lunch & Gallery Experience

Info: Begin the experience with lunch, connection, and an immersive gallery-style storytelling experience featuring quotes, photos, and data inspired by the themes that emerged through 2B Heard stories: Joy & Becoming, Strength & Resilience, Trauma & Harm, Trust & Provider Relationships, Postpartum Gaps, Rights, Voice & Advocacy, and The Power of Village. This opening space invites guests to witness, reflect, and engage with the narratives shaping this gathering, setting the tone for deeper conversation and collective reflection.

🕑: 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
When Stories Take Root | Storytelling Panel

Info: Hear from featured voices sharing lived experience, practitioner insight, and perspectives from within systems of care. This section is designed to help attendees hear the stories behind the data and consider what these experiences reveal about care, support, trust, harm, resilience, and what needs to change. The panel will bring together voices from mothers, a practitioner perspective, and an inside-the-system or policy lens to deepen understanding of what stories can reveal, shift, and make possible when they are truly heard.

🕑: 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM
Cultivating Change | Roundtable Discussion & Action Commitments

Info: Take part in a facilitated conversation that moves from reflection to action. Guests will have the opportunity to process what they heard, engage in meaningful dialogue about what resonated and what must change, and identify concrete commitments for what comes next.
