About this Event
Get ready for the 2026 Swisshelm Park Pickleball Classic!
On May 30, neighbors and friends will gather at the courts of Swisshelm Playground for a casual pickleball tournament to benefit the revitalization of the Sarah Jackson Black Community Center (SJBCC). All proceeds from the event will be given to the SJBCC to further their efforts to ensure the center remains a vibrant part of the community for generations to come.
Anyone can participate, including those who live outside of Swisshelm Park, and all community members are welcome to come to the playground and cheer on the tournament as spectators.
Come dink with us for a good cause!
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Tickets: All tickets are $25. Players will make their payment on the day of the tournament (cash or Zelle/Venmo) to the event organizer in order to play. Please select a ticket below to register for the event so that we can guarantee your spot.
"Sponsor A Player" Tickets: If you would like to sponsor a player for whom the registration price is prohibitive, you may select a "Sponsor a Player" ticket. Please email the event organizer to handle payment ([email protected]).
Registration: Due to limited court space, registration will be capped at 48 players; 4 of the 48 spots will be reserved for players with financial hardship. If you would like to play but the cost of a ticket is prohibitive, please email the event organizer to register ([email protected]).
Match Play: The tournament will be double elimination; all doubles pairs will be guaranteed two 30-minute matches. Whichever team is leading at the end of 30 minutes will be declared the winner. Matches will be self-umpired according to the Official Pickleball Rulebook from USA Pickleball. This tournament is casual and benefits a neighborhood organization; any players acting outside of the spirit of the tournament will be asked to leave.
Waitlist: Any players who are unable to sign up due to capacity and would like to be added to the waitlist should another player or pair drop out, please email the event organizer directly ([email protected]).
PLEASE NOTE: Payments will be handled by Libby Fischer, a community resident, who will give all proceeds to the Sarah Jackson Black Community Center Interim Board. The SJBCC is not yet a 501(c)(3), and as such any contributions are not tax deductible. The SJBCC interim board is currently working on securing 501(c)(3) status.
