Did you know that National Read Across America Day is March 2 and National Read A Book Day is observed annually on September 6th? Join our sixth annual Race to Read 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 or 26.2 and go out, read a book and get running (or walking)! Complete your race anytime between March 2 and September 6th!

The great thing about books and about running (and walking) is that they both can take us on amazing adventures! We will also be donating at least 15% of each registration to DonorsChoose.org, an organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.

  • 1 mile, 5k, 10k, 13.1, and 26.2 virtual races are available — you choose which distance you want to complete
  • Great for all ages
  • A percentage of race registration fees will be donated to DonorsChoose.org
  • You’ll receive a medal and a bib.
  • Medals and bibs will ship out within 2 to 5 days of signing up.

What is a Virtual Race?

A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Running and walking on your own, or with friends! And your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5Ks, 10K, half marathon and more!

Each race benefits a difference charity

For each of our virtual races, we choose a charity to donate a portion of each registration to. We’ve already raised more than $1,00,000 for charities from our many different virtual races! Our goal is to continue to help different charities around the world.
