Join us for a morning of celebration and reflection as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This in-person event will feature a delicious breakfast, remarks and performances by Colby community members, and a keynote address from Dr. TherĂ Pickens, Professor of English and Africana at Bates College. Dr. TherĂ A. Pickens is the Charles A. Dana Professor of English and Africana at Bates College. She received her undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and her PhD in Comparative Literature from UCLA. She is a poet-scholar who focuses on Arab American Studies, Black Studies, Comparative Literature, and Disability Studies. Learn more about her work at https://www.tpickens.org/
