The Hernando de Soto Historical Society’s fundraising efforts support our sister organization, the Conquistador Historical Foundation, which annually donates to local charities, funds Queen’s Court scholarships, supports a student exchange scholarship program with Barcarrota, Spain (Bradenton’s sister city), and provides educational and mentorship programs for local youth. We are proud to reinvest over $50,000 annually back into Manatee County—directly impacting students and families in our community. In order to envision the future, one must first invest in the next generation. Through scholarships and cultural exchange opportunities, we are helping young leaders grow, learn, and carry our traditions forward. As we look ahead, Conquistador Square remains a long-term vision—a place where history is preserved, heritage is sustained, and community can gather for generations to come.
#BeTheOne to support scholarships, education, and opportunity—while helping shape a future rooted in our past.
The 2026 Giving Challenge is presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation. #GivingChallenge2026 #BeTheOne
