2026 FREE PLANT GIVEAWAY: The "Water: More Precious Than Gold" program sponsored by GCCI and AZ Water Company is hosting an event on April 4, 2026, from 8 to 11 AM at the parking lot of the Methodist Church Mission Center. They are offering residents one free native desert plant, with eligibility requiring proof of residency. In partnership with Smiling Dog Cacti & Succulent Nursery, staff and Master Gardeners will assist with plant care. Food bank donations are being accepted for the Gold Canyon Methodist Church.
