The Midwest MidBEST! CRANKIE FEST! presents The 2026 Crankie Artists SHOWCASE on SATURDAY, JUNE 27, at 7pm at THE SHOE TREE LISTENING ROOM AT ARROW CREATIVE REUSE, 616 West Tampa Street, Springfield, Mo. Doors open at 6:30 for this unique, one of a kind event.

Step into the realm of the most recent collection of crankies, many with live music. 2026 Crankie Artists include: Moe Aoife Callahan, Gretchen Glock Teague, Abbe and Tom Ehlers, Abbey Waterworth, Lisa Nix James, Susan Atteberry Smith, and Sandi Green Baker. Music collaborators include: Emily Higgins, Michael Cochran, and Barry Smith.
“What’s a Crankie?” you may ask? A Crankie is a moving panoramic storytelling machine. Artistic scenes are created on a scroll of material that is loaded into a box where the story is cranked along. Many Crankies include puppets, live music, and elaborate theatrical effects.
