Join Tidewater Community College and The Muse Writers Center for an evening of poetry and music with former Poet Laureate, Tim Seibles, and renowned upright bassist, Chris Brydge.Refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public.
Tim Seibles and Chris Brydge combine poetry and the music of upright bass to create a mesmerizing experience for anyone who listens. Usually, the bass is considered a background instrument while many people see poetry as difficult, intended only for a select few. By combining their work, Tim and Chris allow the bass to reveal its surprising melodic range while the poems become more like song than highfalutin literature.
Doors open at 5 p.m. The event will run from 5:30-6:45 p.m.
